Head of People
Weezie launched in 2018 with the goal of making every day feel like a special occasion. What started as an idea between two friends has grown into a beloved brand approaching 100 employees, and now Weezie is building the People function to match.
Weezie is seeking its first Head of People to build and lead a best-in-class People function as the business enters its next phase of growth. Partnering closely with the CEO and executive team, this role owns Weezie's end-to-end people strategy, from attracting and onboarding exceptional talent to developing employees, strengthening performance management, and designing an organization built for sustainable growth. The Head of People will inherit an established and capable People team, and a key part of the role is developing and elevating that team while thoughtfully expanding the function as the business grows. Equally strategic and hands-on, this leader will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to drive day-to-day execution while building the infrastructure, programs, and capabilities that will support Weezie well into the future.
Weezie's growth is accelerating quickly, with a diverse workforce that spans its Atlanta corporate office, its Buckhead flagship retail store, and its Austell fulfillment center. As the company continues expanding across channels, categories, and systems, it has reached an inflection point where additional structure, process, and leadership are needed to fuel its next stage of growth, all while preserving the entrepreneurial, collaborative, and high-trust culture that has defined Weezie from the beginning. The ideal candidate is an accomplished People leader and builder who is excited by the opportunity to grow both a function and a brand, and who enjoys building as much as operating.
What You'll Do
- Build and evolve the People function into a strategic, scalable capability, introducing process and infrastructure without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team on people matters and broader business strategy.
- Lead talent acquisition end-to-end and strengthen onboarding, learning, and development to accelerate new hire success and retention.
- Evolve performance management and build management capability across the organization.
- Lead organizational design, job architecture, career paths, and total rewards, ensuring structure and compensation scale competitively and equitably with the business.
- Champion Weezie's entrepreneurial, high-trust culture, using consistent listening mechanisms such as engagement surveys and stay and exit interviews to strengthen the employee experience.
- Own employee relations and compliance, partnering with outside counsel on wage and hour, FMLA, and multi-site requirements, and develop the employee handbook.
In the First Year
- Get to know the business from the inside out through a structured listening tour across corporate, retail, and fulfillment, and translate those insights into a clear People roadmap.
- Publish an employee handbook that reflects Weezie's culture and sets clear, consistent expectations across all three locations.
- Establish a simple, repeatable hiring process that shortens time-to-fill without lowering the caliber of talent.
- Define a clear total rewards and compensation philosophy, with pay bands and a framework that scale competitively and equitably as the company grows.
- Build career paths and development opportunities that give employees across corporate, retail, and fulfillment a clear way to grow at Weezie.
